Job Description:
The devices we make at SEL are embedded in the power grid. They

pieces of the grid to go faster. As an Integration & Automation
Engineer in Research and Development you'll provide solutions and
services that help our customers protect and control critical
electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As an Integration & Automation Engineer, a typical day might
include the following:
Maintain advanced technical knowledge and skills to contribute to
the development and enhancement of integration and automation
features in SEL products.
Define, develop and analyze product specifications, functional
tests, and system validation processes.
Diagnose customer reported problems with integration and
communication features and document issues for developers.
Provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products
or enhancements.
Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
This job might be for you if:
You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
You have demonstrated experience with serial, Ethernet, and
multiple communication protocols and their application in an
electrical power system environment.
You have 2+ years of experience in setup and configuration of a
broad range of network devices and interfaces.
You have 2+ years of experience at an electric utility, industrial
plant, or engineering firm.
You have the ability to work effectively and professionally with
internal and external customers.
You have 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS
practices.
You have experience contributing to product development teams.

We anticipate filling this position as an Integration & Automation
Engineer $75,000 - $108,000. We are open to reviewing additional
candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may
differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are
determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our
starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors
such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
