Job Purpose:

Leads the internal and external creative representation of the GSI brand and develops all materials that are a reflection of that brand in order to strengthen and grow the organization's reputation and advance key strategic initiatives and programs.

Essential Responsibilities:
Leads the strategic design, development and implementation of creative assets for all internal and external print and digital representation of the GSI brand to advance programs, initiatives, events, advertising and marketing.
Works with GSI team members to plan and develop appropriate creative collateral and materials (design, gain approval, and implement) to support GSI's events, programs, publications and other initiatives.
Develops and maintains relationships with printers, graphic design firms, photographers, videographers and other vendors to effectively deploy creative strategies.
Assists with and provides backup support for website updates, newsletter and social media management.
Provides complementary creative design capacity to support community partners in advertising and marketing the Spokane region.
Contributes to organizational success by:

Working with colleagues to discover and develop ways to retain, grow, better align and leverage GSI resources for greater impact;

Developing and maintaining relationships with GSI's Board and members to improve investor engagement;

Contributing to an organizational culture of team work, support, engagement, and empowerment;

Regularly evaluating GSI's systems and processes for continuous improvement; and

Contributing to the collection, organization, and presentation of key data in relation to GSI's strategic plan and goals.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Degree in graphic design and five or more years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience via a design portfolio is required. Demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record for sustained measurement of program outcomes, ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in creative writing preferred
Ability to take direction and multi-task
Time management and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks
Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn, fail, and succeed
Computer Skills: Technology savvy and above average proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite software, and proficient using Microsoft Office suite, project management software, CRM Software, and internet.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. A majority of the work is in an office environment with frequent expectation to attend local events, meetings or training by car. May also occasionally travel out of the area for meetings or training opportunities by car or air. Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours per week and may be needed to work additional time to meet deadlines, finish assignments, or attend events and meetings.
