This is applicable to new, external hires to Providence. Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (Inpatient Rehab Spinal Injury , Day Shift, 0.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. Applicants that meet qualifications will receive a text with some additional questions from our Modern Hire system. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

• Recognize and be able to meet the basic needs of patients, such as bathing, grooming and dressing
• Assist with all PO intake of food and/or liquids
• Take and record daily vitals
• Toileting patients and ensuring proper protocol is followed
• Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly, including changing bed linens, emptying trash, putting away equipment (such as wheelchairs and walkers), stocking linens, etc
• Ensuring equipment (helmets, SCDs, Spenco boots, etc.) that has been ordered by physician or clinician is being utilized by appropriate patients
• Once MAR is obtained, responsible for checking and reporting blood sugars
• Transfer patients in and out of bed and wheelchairs and transport to appointments as needed
• Read and monitor BVI machines
• Catheter care as needed
• Accurately complete patient charting in a timely fashion
• Maintain close communication with the team leader regarding the assessment of the response of patients and their families to medical care and regarding their needs for further education Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Licensure as a NAC in the state of Washington
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider required, or obtain within first thirty (30) days of employment
  • Medical Assistant Registered licensure required within six (6) months of hire Preferred qualifications for this position include:
