Carpool opportunities are available. POSITION: Pharmacy Intern: A
non-exempt position serving Indian and non-Indian
patients/clientele. QUALIFICATIONS: Student in accredited School of
Pharmacy. Must have good computer skills and exceptional customer
service capability. Must be currently certified in the State of
Idaho as Pharmacy Intern by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy. ADA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Hearing: within normal limits with or without
use of corrective hearing devices; Vision: adequate to read
12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses Must be able
to verbally interact with staff, clients and public Manual
dexterity of hands/fingers for writing, computer input Able to lift
up to 40 lbs., Standing 85 % of the day Walking 85 % of the day
Pushing, up to 50 lbs. Pulling, up to 50 lbs. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Converts physician medication orders into typed prescription
labels. Utilize clinic computer equipment to generate labels,
collect data, and produce patient care information, including
demographics and allergies. Perform routine functions in connection
with preparing, compounding, distribution and/or dispensing of
medications. Takes verbal prescriptions and transfers prescriptions
with pharmacist guidance. Utilizes EHR for medical record review.
Counsels patients on drug therapies using clear, concise, and
accurate information under guidance of pharmacist. Provides health
promotion and disease prevention activities relating to drug use
and preventive drug therapy to the community when needed.
Communicates directly with the Pharmacist about problems that
affect the delivery of patient care. Maintains positive and
professional patient/pharmacy relations with Marimn Health patients
Participates in accreditation committees, attends staff and Center
meetings, and in-service training. Properly documents errors in
logs, and accepts responsibility as appropriate. Requisitions and
maintains adequate supplies for the department Maintains records,
drug inventory, stock shelves, and maintains clean work
environment. Accomplishes necessary paperwork as assigned. Follows
policy and procedure. Orders needed supplies from various vendors.
Utilizes electronic ordering systems. Handles refill requests.
Maintains adequate medication stock. Contributes to constructive
problem solving in the Pharmacy Communicates directly with the
Pharmacy Manager about problems that affect the pharmacy
operations. Works to identify potential solutions and resolution.
Helps to create an environment that facilitates teamwork in the
pharmacy to enhance the function, development and cooperation
within the pharmacy department. Contributes equally and positively
to the workload in the pharmacy Makes productive use of
administrative and down time. Develops programs and ideas to
improve efficiency of the department. Uses computer for official
use only. Does not use inappropriate internet sites or email.
Manages personal and professional priorities appropriately.
Demonstrates compassion and understanding of patient's problems.
Treats patients with courtesy and respect while offering potential
solutions. Is punctual in arriving at scheduled times. Does not
abuse paid time off policies. Attends Job related training and
staff meetings when assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
