Become part of our team, and join our mission to make life healthier for everyone in our community.The Obstetrics and Gynecology Primary Care Clinics have an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100%, 40 hours per week), day shift, REGISTERED NURSE 3 CARE MANAGER!The RN 3 Care Manager (RN3CM) is responsible for providing professional nursing care, assist with nursing leadership for the Obstetrics and Gynecology program within the UW Medicine Primary Care Clinics. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Nursing for UW Medicine Primary Care the RN 3 Care Manager will perform leadership functions specific to the Primary Care OB/GYN program areas such as developing education programs, acting as clinical resource for staff, and coordinating daily operations; support the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Nursing to develop, maintain, and evaluate the on-going operations and standards of care for Obstetrics and Gynecology patients seen at UW Medicine Primary Care Clinics. This position is required to travel to all UW Medicine Primary Care Clinics that provide Obstetrics and Gynecology services to our patients (OB/GYN specialty and Family Medicine OB service).In addition to working with the patients and their families, the RN3CM interacts regularly with providers and personnel from within the UWMC system and outside to include, but not limited to: Pharmacies, clinic/office/hospital personnel, laboratories, and home care nurses to coordinate care of patients.ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following information is designed to outline the essential functions and requirements for this position. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards which should be maintained.Nursing Leadership & AdministrativeAssist with the planning and/or implementation of educational programs for Primary Care OB/GYN staff and patients.Act as a preceptor for new or experienced Primary Care OB/GYN employees by assessing learning needs, developing, implementing, and monitoring learning plans and evaluating the learner's progress.Participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality assurance program for Primary OB/GYN.Participate in establishing, implementing, and evaluating Primary Care OB/GYN Identify Primary Care Obstetrics and Gynecology patient care, staff, and resource problems and take necessary steps toward problem resolution.Provide feedback and guidance to Primary Care OB/GYN staff; observe, review, and evaluate staff performance.Assist in the development, maintenance, and evaluation of systems to support Primary Care OB/GYN nursing care delivery such as patient care documentation and emergency response procedures.Participate in unit, departmental and hospital committees as requested. May utilize clinical expertise to provide planned and spontaneous learning activities to Primary Care Obstetrics and Gynecology patients, families and staff.May develop Primary Care OB/GYN Nursing staffing schedule for a specific time period.May participate in the interview process and recommend selection of Primary Care Obstetrics and Gynecology staff.Perform related duties as required.Obstetric and Gynecologic Specialty Care Manager ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates nursing knowledge and skills that reflect current ambulatory nursing services for women's prenatal, gynecologic, and primary care, including family planning and contraception, breast health including lactation assessment/support, and mental health.Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to perform special procedures such as non-stress testing, wound care, catheterization, ECG, and physician assistance during procedures.Demonstrates competency in patient education on specialty area topics such as prenatal and postnatal education, newborn care, post-partum recovery, mental health and lactation care, gynecologic outpatient procedures, and pre and post-operative education.Conducts in-person and telephone triage as needed.Collaborates with UW Women's Health nurses in developing and providing standard OB/GYN nursing care consistent throughout the UW Medical Center Serves as a resource and helps answer questions and coordinate clinical care for patients across UWMPC sites.Core AccountabilitiesTeamwork: Demonstrates cooperation, adaptability, flexibility, communication, dependability, and supports team goals.Respect and Caring: Compassion, customer relations, professional behavior, confidentiality, valuing diversity.Strives to consistently provide the highest quality of customer service to patients, families, guests, and co-workers by following UW Medicine's Service Culture Guidelines.Effective Use of Resources: Effective use of time, people, supplies, safe and attentive work practices.Completes all training including annual Safety training.Initiative: Self-motivated, takes on project willingly, acts on opportunities to improve, and contributes to new ideas.Promotes professional development and contributes to the professional growth of others.Complies with the UWMPC risk management program, including accurate and timely reporting of all adverse incidents as described in the policy.Complies with applicable information security policies and procedures and completes all required HIPAA and Compliance training.Observes principles of data security and patient confidentiality.Maintains ethical standards in the performance of duties and in interactions with patients, coworkers and health care professionals.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).Certifications/Licensure Requirements:Current Washington State Registered Nurse licensureAndExperience:4 years Obstetrics and Gynecology nursing experience.REQUIREMENTS:L-RN - REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE WA StateApplicants considered for this position will be required to disclose if they are the subject of any substantiated findings or current investigations related to sexual misconduct at their current employment and past employment.
