additional $9.00 based on specialty Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is
looking to have an ER RN to join our Emergency Department as a PRN!
$9/HR Specialty Diff! The ER RN provides direct and indirect
patient care in the emergency setting. This position has a
leadership role in assessing and organizing the care and flow of
the patients and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
The nurse provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and
responsibility with a minimum of supervision. This position is able
to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters
the emergency care system and determines priorities of care based
on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing
patient flow through the system. The RN communicates with Emergency
Department physicians about changes in patients status and clinical
condition, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response
to treatment. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Strong analytical,
problem solving, interpersonal and social skills. Possess excellent
prioritization, organization and time management skills. Exhibit
very good computer skills requiring order entry and patient
registration applications. Demonstrates flexibility and
availability in scheduling to accommodate needs and demands of the
department. Functions independently with self-confidence in a
highly stressful environment while practicing within scope of
practice. Operates with ample verbal and written communication
skills. Practices with honesty and moral vigor and accepts full
responsibility for actions. Advocates for patients and families and
exhibits professional and therapeutic customer service skills.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates the
communication by clearly conveying information and ideas through
appropriate mechanisms in a way that engages people and helps them
understand and retain the message. Demonstrates ability to make
patients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions,
developing and sustaining productive patient relationships.
Demonstrates safety by familiarizing him or herself with policies
and procedures, practicing personal and patient and equipment
safety consistently and reporting any and all safety
hazards/unusual patient or administrative occurrences that may have
effect on patient and/or staffs wellbeing. Demonstrates ability to
set high standards of performance for self and others; assumes
responsibility and accountability for successfully completing
assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather
than having standards imposed. Performs head-to-toe assessment on
all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes
pediatric, geriatric and the general population considering needs
specific to the standard of care for patients age. Adequately
assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management
techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain
management. Actively seeks opportunities to offer task assistance
to all CPMC Team Members as appropriate. Provides direct patient
care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as
required and adjusts nursing care processes and care plan to ensure
optimal patient care and documents per policy. Administers
medications and their correct administration based on age of the
patient and their clinical condition. Follows the six (6)
medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and
evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching
as appropriate. Assists providers with procedures and performs
services requiring technical and manual skills. Participates in
meetings, committees, and continuing education to improve
individual, departmental, and organization performance. Performs
waived testing (point of care) per Clinical Laboratorys and units
policies and procedures. Interprets results of waived tests: taking
appropriate action on waived tests results. Coordinates and
supervises patient care as necessary. Demonstrates an ability to be
flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate
of Accredited school of nursing. Current licensure to practice as a
Registered Nurse in the State of Montana. Current certifications in
BCLS and ACLS. PALS and NRP within six (6) months of employment.
TNCC certification within twelve (12) months of employment
preferred. ENPC within twelve (12) months of employment preferred.
Experience A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department setting. Successful
completion of an orientation program. Schedule PRN (as needed
basis) Varies shifts, depending on the needs of the department
including weekends, nights and/or holidays. Cabinet Peaks Medical
