Job Description:
Job Description Use your firmware engineering experience to
invent the future of protective relays at SEL. In this role you
will collaborate with software, hardware, RTL and power engineers
to develop a new relay product line. You will: Design and invent
novel solutions to tough problems Write high quality and dependable
firmware along with a small development team Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Specify, design, implement, and test elegant,
bullet-proof solutions for mission critical firmware. Collaborate
and contribute a spirit of continuous improvement Troubleshoot
defects, performing root cause analysis Continuously identify,
measure, and improve processes. Understand, create, and simplify
solutions to solve challenging problems. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications B.S. in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Coursework or
experience in the following areas: Real-time firmware design
Programming in C and C++ Ability to learn new skills and assume new
responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team
environment Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test
result(s) Preferred Qualifications Embedded systems development
Controlling microprocessor peripherals Real Time Operating Systems
Low level firmware development or writing assembly Scripting
languages including Python or Perl Industrial controls 3-phase
