We are seeking an individual with technical experience in the software development lifecycle or IT infrastructure that is a strong writer. This position will work on numerous proposals supporting our **Health and Human Services (HHS)** team with proposal development that may include drafting original content with inputs from subject matter experts, editing/consolidating content from other proposals, and leading a group of writers in developing technical solutions.

**_This role is fully remote!_**

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a **Proposal Technical Writer** supporting our **HHS** team, you will be trusted to develop compelling, compliant, and winning technical proposal responses. In this role, a typical day will include:

+ Active, "hands-on" involvement in all phases of the proposal development process for assigned sections to include strategy/solutioning sessions, refining ideas, and cultivating sources

+ Interviewing technical SMEs and converting high-level technical solution designs produced by SMEs to detailed technical solutions writeups

+ Merging, refining, and managing content from various resources and stakeholders, and weaving it into compelling writeups

+ Outlining, writing, and editing technical proposals at the organizational, structural, sentence, and proofreading levels with focus on identifying contextual errors, reorganizing content, and editing graphics, tables, and illustrations

+ Ensuring win themes, key messages, discriminators, benefits, and proof points are clearly, consistently, and effectively communicated

+ Reviewing and editing proposal content for solicitation compliance, clarity, and proper use of terminology

+ Participation in quality control milestones, color reviews, and regular standup calls detailing the status of assigned proposal sections and identifying any issues or resource requirements, while strictly adhering to proposal requirements, page counts, evaluation criteria, and deadlines


+ 3+ years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree (or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience)

+ Knowledge of business development, proposal or grant writing, and/or Shipley proposal processes

+ Experience supporting information technology projects and/or proposals

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, particularly the use of styles and creating/using templates

+ Knowledge of SharePoint, Office 365, and ability to learn new applications


+ Federal proposal writing for a government contractor or equivalent technical experience.

+ Experience as a Technical/Management Volume Lead, Book Boss, or Lead Technical/Management Writer

+ Experience with technical leadership and project management

+ Previous HHS and/or public health experience highly desirable

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively

+ Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment

+ Strong time management skills and flexibility to adjust tasks as necessary
