Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Director of
Information Technology to join our team! IT Director oversees all
technology infrastructure, security, and support for a small, rural
facility, ensuring 24/7 system availability. Key duties include
maintaining EMR/clinical systems, managing network security and
data backups, vendor management, and providing IT staff support.
The role requires balancing technical expertise with regulatory
compliance (e.g., HIPAA, CMS). Responsible for managing assigned IT
resources in development and support of the revenue cycle,
clinical, corporate and/or ancillary systems that form the basis of
Cabinet Peaks Medical Center information systems. Directs, manages
and coordinates staff resources and expertise to analyze business
requirements and workflows in order to support, build, integrate
and implement comprehensive integrated system solutions for IT
customers, including data collection, data integration, data
analysis, and data reporting. Ensure maximum utilization of
technology and available resources while achieving approved fiscal
expectations. Ensure optimum and timely application support
consistent with organizational needs and resource allocation. Act
as a resource to staff in utilization of technology and designing,
developing, implementing and evaluating information systems. Major
Job Duties & Responsibilities Patient/Customer Satisfaction:
Implements practices & programs that improve patient's experience
and/or improves the health of our population. Achieves established
patient/customer satisfaction scores. Utilizes tools (AIDET,
rounding, etc.) to increase patient satisfaction Planning: Aligns
all work and resource management with CPMC mission, vision, values,
goals and strategic initiatives. Actively participates in planning
long-term strategies for the department. Keeps up to date on
industry trends, regulatory changes, etc. Translates strategies
into annual measurable goals for department, utilizes tracking and
reporting tools on a consistent basis. Meets deadlines. Financial
results: Develops yearly budget for department(s) that align with
strategic goals. Monitors actual expenditures against budgeted
amounts and develops corrective action plans for significent
variances. Identifies opportunities to reduce per capita cost of
healthcare. Quality: Identifies quality standards, measures
performance, implements action plans to correct deficiencies &
continuously improves processes to meet patient/customer needs.
Provides timely responses (email, phone calls) to customers.
Management of staff: Determines headcount needs, devises work
schedules, hires high quality personnel, communicates in timely
manner (monthly staff meetings), conducts effective, on-time
performance evaluations, applies HR policies consistently, handles
employee performance problems quickly and per policies, rewards and
recognizes staff accomplishments. Compliance: Stays abreast of and
ensures compliance with all CPMC policies & procedures, laws,
regulatory requirements, Medicare Conditions of Participation, etc.
Develops and maintains current department policies and procedures.
Assistance with medical center software, hardware, and services
acquisitions Promotion of systems integration strategies as
appropriate Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Ability to demonstrate
competency performing all essential functions of the job, with or
without reasonable accommodation. Minimum of five years experience
in an IT or clinical supervisory position, with demonstrated
proficiency in the management of multiple complex system
implementations in a health care environment. Demonstrated Total
Quality Management, leadership, communication, organizational, and
management skills. Experience Education and/or experience with
process improvement techniques, change control and project
management preferred. Minimum of 3 years of direct EMR experience.
5 years Management/supervisory experience in healthcare Educational
Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or
Information Management or 6 years related work experience
Applicable license for technical area is required. MBA or masters
in healthcare a plus, preferred Schedule Based on the needs of the
