As a Team Lead for Product Configuration, you will manage a team of highly technical staff responsible for configuring, implementing and maintaining products in Premera's core processing system. As a Team Lead, you will ensure customer expectations are met by providing timely and accurately implementations that provide group and member support relating to the issuance of ID cards, the availability of on-site pharmacy coverage, the adjudication of claims, and benefit quoting information for Customer Service to quote our members. You will also manage the ongoing maintenance of product configuration and the monitoring and resolution of production issues.

What you'll do:

  • Interview, hire, coach, and provide direction to staff to ensure quality and timely results
  • Provide appropriate performance feedback to staff both informally and during formal review process
  • Participate in the product related implementation efforts, working collaboratively with Product Strategy and Development, Business Implementation, Sales, Contract Services, and Operations
  • Manage the product configuration activities to ensure that the supporting processes are accurate and timely; including ID card generation and the web display of benefit information
  • Manage the product configuration of the core processing system to ensure that the claims administration accurately and efficiently supports the business requirements
  • Oversee the product customization review process
  • Provide leadership and direction on product configuration related activities, including recommendations on configuration improvements
  • Ensures that product configuration supports all company targets including auto-adjudication goals and group and membership timeliness and accuracy goals
  • Ensure that ongoing configuration maintenance is performed timely and accurately
  • Proactively communicate with partner departments regarding new product configuration approaches; such as ebusiness, data reporting, membership and billing
  • Allocate resources as necessary to meet corporate priorities, collaboratively working with partner departments to determine the appropriate timing

    What you'll bring:

    • Two (2) years' related operations or business experience, preferably in healthcare (required)
    • Two (2) years' leadership experience (required)
    • Demonstrated success in project management leadership and implementation
    • Aptitude for thriving in a complex and often ambiguous environment
    • Energized by challenges and view them as opportunities
    • Ability to manage a multitude of assignments at once
    • Ability to lead, influence, and guide team members toward project goals
    • Demonstrated business analysis and research skills; demonstrated ability to identify issues and propose methodological solutions
    • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to effectively deal with rapid change in a positive manner and to lead staff through changing priorities
