Serve Gonzaga University and the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion as an innovative, collaborative, and dynamic leader committed to promoting and advancing the Gonzaga University Mission Statement. Supports the Chief Diversity Officer on matters of strategic importance, and shares information with the Chief Diversity Officer on key DEI projects and initiatives taking place across the University.

Under the direction of the Chief Diversity Officer, the Associate Chief Diversity Officer co-leads the university's commitment to provide culturally diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environments for the university's workforce, student body, learning spaces, programs, services and partnerships. The Associate Chief Diversity Officer is responsible for implementing the university's vision, strategic goals and objectives that integrates the educational value of a diverse and inclusive learning environment through collaborative engagement with faculty, staff and students. The primary areas of accountability include assessment, advocacy and education through research, programming, and student and workforce development. The Associate Chief Diversity Officer serves as a leading advisor and subject matter expert to university management, staff, faculty and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity. The incumbent manages key diversity related staff departments to provide services and programming to students, faculty and staff.

The primary areas of accountability include management of office and staff, assessment, advocacy and education through research, programming, and student and workforce development. The Assistant Provost serves as chief advisor and subject matter expert to university management, staff, faculty and students in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity. The incumbent manages key diversity related staff departments to provide services and programming to students, faculty and staff. The Assistant Provost will possess an advanced degree (an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree); a track record of, and a deep commitment to, developing high impact diversity and inclusion initiatives for faculty, students, and staff; excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and abilities to inspire and influence others. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate cultural intelligence, intercultural agility, and emotional intelligence to cultivate trust and credibility through collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders working in a robust organizational context in the midst of fluidity and change.
