Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Parent Engagement Specialist promotes direct enrollment in college by educating parents from diverse backgrounds about the college readiness and enrollment process. The Specialist helps parents of high school students build the knowledge and skills required to ensure they can help students make informed college choices. The Specialist will use both universal and targeted outreach to engage parents from diverse backgrounds. The Specialist will develop partnerships required to ensure parent engagement in CSF workshops and events.


* Implement a parent engagement plan that is aligned with CSF strategies and priorities to increase the number of students who enroll in college immediately following high school graduation.
* Develop and conduct universal and targeted parent outreach strategies to maximize participation and engagement from diverse populations.
* Build relationships with parents and families that fosters their ongoing engagement.
* Partner with school and community partners to develop impactful parent outreach and engagement strategies.
* Plan and deliver college and career workshops to parents that develop their knowledge and skills in what students need to be college and career ready.
* Serve as a resource for families in need of support regarding the college readiness and enrollment process.
* Develop and support parent's access to college and career resources and materials.
* Work with school administrators and community partners to identify opportunities for collaboration.
* Work in partnership with school staff, college partners and other college access programs to deliver services to parents.
* Use work and time management tools to strengthen and maximize the delivery of services.
* Collect and enter data to document college and career activities completed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Skills to work collaboratively with others as part of a team, including an ability to communicate in a manner that encourages trust and two-way feedback.
* Ability to deal with and protection of confidential information.
* Organizing, prioritizing and performing multiple tasks with attention to detail
* Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
* Ability to attend CSF staff meetings, town halls, and other required meeting.
* Ability to participate in professional development and training.
* Be a "self-starter", able to work independently while observing and complying with all standards as outlined by program managers and CSF.
* Microsoft Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook).

* Ability to comply with company COVID-19 vaccination policy.
* Ability to identify and solve problems.
* Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.


* Bachelor's Degree preferred.
* Minimum two years of experience in fields related to parent engagement, youth development, education, teaching or counseling.
* Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
* Current COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
* Bilingual in Spanish strongly

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to observe details at close range and the ability to adjust focus.


During a pandemic, employees must be able to work remotely and use collaborative software in order to communicate with others and attend virtual meetings. Employees must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting strenuous customer deadlines, working in high volume areas and be flexible and able to interact with employees, students and/or community partners of all levels.


The position may change based upon needs of the program and/or organizational needs and available funding.
