Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited or no supervision, the Hydraulics Assembler Levels 1-3 performs hydraulic assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and testing operations on hydraulic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

SUMMARY

There are 3 grades in the Hydraulic Assembler classification with each Level advancement being inclusive of the prior in the sequence. Preceding advancement to the next grade, team members are required to actively participate in the safety process, have a clean work record clear of any disciplinary actions for12 months, and have a promotion recommendation by their respective lead and supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manor
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Possesses a positive attitude towards all employees and create positive working relationships
* Demonstrate proper use of all safety equipment through everyday use and practice
* Perform material handling duties (part identification and handling, loading trucks, basic rigging)
* Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools related to hydraulic assembly
* Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area
* Perform duties as assigned by lead or supervisor
* Attend all required team and company meetings
* Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area through continuous 7S efforts

Level 1:

* Read and understand basic drawings and schematics
* Under direct supervision, build simple assemblies and sub-assemblies
* Assist in dismantling and preparing final products for customer shipment
* Ability to work independently with supervision (self-starter/self-motivated)
* Assist higher-level Assemblers in the assembly process
* Provide input on quality, cost, and production issues
* Assist in the detection of defective material, unusual conditions, and report to supervisor
* Comprehension of basic hydraulic components, fittings, and installation practices
* Develop a basic understanding of lean principals

Level 2:

* With moderate supervision, develops basic machine unit layout
* Work from assembly drawings, schematics and instructions to execute work in the proper sequence


* Ability to work with minimal supervision displaying basic troubleshooting skills
* Demonstrate capability to install components and have a working knowledge of machine level control


* Demonstrate working knowledge of product family machine level control (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical)
* Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision solving a wide variety of hydraulic, control, and mechanical problems
* Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements
* Display basic hydraulic system trouble shooting, tube bending, and hose making skills

Level 3:

* Perform advanced troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems across multiple Alliance platforms
* Provide work instruction to lower-level hydraulic technicians of all classifications
* Assists Field Service and Engineering with manufacturing issues, installations, design solutions, and high-level machine operation.
* Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of machines and subassembly operations across multiple product lines
* Train and mentor others on basic hydraulic and pneumatic installation techniques
* Ability to coordinate multiple assignments, handle increased responsibility, and apply sound judgment within the scope of responsibility as required
* Display the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting across multiple machine platforms
* Assists Field Service and Engineering with manufacturing issues, installations, design solutions, and high-level machine operation
* Assist in generating and updating standard work instructions and/or procedures

EDUCATION

* High school diploma or equivalent. Military, trade school or community college coursework in hydraulic-mechanical assembly, repair, and troubleshooting desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals (forklifts, cranes, machine alarms, etc.); and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to

* Have full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders; lift arms overhead; work overhead; reach, lift, push/pull, walk, climb, kneel, bend; good dexterity and range of movement in fingers, hands and wrists.
* Sit for at least three hours.
* Stand on feet for at least three hours.
* Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
* Maintain confidence and balance while working on ladders up to 12 feet tall.

EMPLOYEE EQUIPMENT

Must be able to provide an assortment of tools in a rollaway toolbox and steel-toed boots.
