Job Description:
Our Kaiser Aluminum Spokane Washington aluminum casting, plating
and rolling plant has several opportunities for students in
Computer Science or Computer Engineering programs to intern with
us. Student interns will report to a mentor who will assign
projects which include:
What you will work on:
* Boomi/AzureDev Ops support
* MES development support
* Dashboard development support
* OT infrastructure support
* IT infrastructure support
* Develop software tools
* Create web-based reports and displays
* Data visualization which include process status and summary,
quality compliance, and results from process data mining
* Develop and deploy control system changes to implement process
and production improvements
Benefits
* Hourly wage $24.00
* Not eligible for company provided benefit

requirements
REPORTS TO: Computer Science/Engineering Mentor
FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-exempt
SUPERVISES: N/A
What you will bring to the positions:
The Computer Science/Engineering Intern's essential functions
include:
* Provide support for ongoing department projects.
* Participate in project related construction and outage
activities.
* Execute individual CS/CE projects as assigned.
* Participate in the development of project scopes, cost estimates,
and schedules.
* Assist with and develop specifications in support of
projects.
* Prepare and organize project documentation.
* Other tasks as assigned by departmental mentor.
* Work in cross-functional teams to develop process and production
improvements
EDUCATION
Pursuing BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with
strong Math and Physics emphasis.
EXPERIENCE
This individual will possess:
* Ability to implement programming solutions to problems.
* Ability to program in a high-level language. Programming skills
in Python or C#.Net a plus.
* Excellent problem solving, investigative, experimental, and
statistical analysis skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and
organizational skills.
* Ability to work in teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Approximately 60% of the job function is performed in an office
setting requiring normal safety precautions. 40% of the job
function is required in the plant. There is exposure to operating
machinery and a manufacturing environment.
