QUALIFICATIONS: Thisis an exempt position, serving Indian and
non-Indian patients/clientele. Associate's degree in related
specialty required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Five (5) years'
work experience in public and/or mental health required. Prior
experience or collaboration with mental health care, substance use
disorder, crisis intervention/response, and/or suicide prevention
preferred. Prior experience working with Native American tribes
preferred. A minimum of 5 years proven successful experience
handling time-sensitive and confidential matters. Demonstrated
experience in successful program promotion preferred. Excellent
project management, organizational, and presentation skills are a
must. Two years of case management experience preferred. Must
demonstrate ability to set healthy community priorities. Must have
excellent interpersonal skills in a mixed culture context and be
comfortable screening for suicide risk and assisting with safety
planning/reducing access to lethal means. Must be able to establish
and maintain supportive working relationships with team, the
public, service groups, facility users, and community stakeholders.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This is a grant funded position: 9/2020 through 9/2025.
Continuation of this position beyond the initial grant period is
subject to continued funding.
ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective
hearing devices.
Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of
corrective lenses.
Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients and
public.
Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing and computer
input.
Able to lift up to 80 lbs., (e.g., members, with assistance)
Standing/walking 50% of the day.
Sitting 50% of the day.
Pushing up to 60 lbs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Marimn Health Center Leadership Team to develop Zero
Suicide project plan, set milestones, reinforce expectations, and
assign tasks, monitor and report on progress.
Research best practices and lessons learned to achieve improvement
in health care delivery systems, processes, and outcomes.
Consistently promote a positive, professional image of Marimn
Health Center at all times, and provide consistent high-quality
customer service. Demonstrate positive, effective communication
skills and interactions with the employees, members, volunteers,
community members, other agencies and organizations.
Lead the development of the community crisis response system,
suicide prevention initiatives, QPR trainings, gathering and
reporting all required data and remain within budget.
Work with Marimn Health Center Leadership Team to manage and
schedule the Zero Suicide Leadership Team and other grant projects
in conjunction with events and activities.
Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, including the
ability to collect, retrieve, integrate, analyze, and use data and
information, and compare and evaluate possible actions or courses
of conduct based upon such analysis.
Monitors those patients vulnerable to suicide identified through
data collection for follow-up and continuity of care across Marimn
Health Center.
Maintains the Suicide Care Pathway and provides case management,
supportive contact, and resource navigation to patients on the
pathway, especially during transitions in levels of care or
elevation in suicide risk level.
Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of, and comply with, Marimn
Health Center policies and procedures.
The Suicide Prevention Project Coordinator will provide an overall
orientation and support to set mental health, substance use
disorder and suicide prevention priorities; develop community
action plans; take action on the priorities and evaluate
results.
Responsible for implementing activities as outlined in grant
funding.
Continuous monitoring and coordination of all grant activities
Communicates the purpose, priorities and objectives of the Zero
Suicide Project and related grants to the community and
stakeholders.
Facilitates Zero Suicide Project meetings.
Works with the Community entities to promote project/activities
through such resources as community radio, newspaper interviews, or
speaking at local events.
Provides or coordinates necessary training to Marimn Health and
Community to enhance the promotion of suicide prevention, mental
health, and substance use disorder initiatives.
Ensures collaboration with community or regional partners to ensure
effective communication and successful project outcomes.
Acts as a contact and ensures that individuals, community agencies
and groups are aware of the available resources to deliver and
participate in mental health and substance use disorder
activities.
Development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure
that Marimn and community partners are providing evidence based
suicide safe patient care to the community
Partnership development with multiple health serving agencies
across the region.
Works with Grants and Finance Departments to ensure proper
management and administration of grant funds.
Familiar with and abides by grant procurement and other federal
requirements as outlined in Notices of Award.
Maintains proper documentation for the approval and administration
Behavioral Health grant funds.
Management of all federal reporting requirements; including but not
limited to, continuation applications, carry-over requests,
quarterly reports, semi-annual reports, annual reports, and no-cost
extension requests
Provides regular reports to Marimn Health Leadership Team and
Health Board on progress of Behavioral Health Grant activities
including objectives, strategies, and issues.
Works with Grants Manager to complete required reporting.
Disseminate information and findings related to the Zero Suicide
Project to the community and other stakeholders as necessary.
Ensure that client level data and infrastructure indicators are
collected, reported, monitored and submitted to the federal
SAMHSA's Performance Accountability and Reporting System on a
quarterly basis.
Performs other duties that may be necessary and in the best
interest of the organization or as assigned.
