What are we looking for in a Family Partner?
As part of the WISe (Wraparound with Intensive Services) team, the Family Partner uses personal and professional life experiences to provide peer support to youth and families served by the WISe program. The Family Partner encourages clients to assert control over their lives and recovery process by promoting self-advocacy, positive socialization, community living skills, and reliance on natural supports. The Family Partner also serves as a bridge between the family and treatment team to ensure that each party's information & perspectives are shared and understood.This role requires a willingness to use one's own experiences to help others, routine work outside of the office, and Youth & Family Peer Support certification provided by the Washington State Health Care Authority. The schedule for this role is mostly Monday-Friday day shift, butmay occasionally require work outside of standard business hours to meet the needs of client families served.Although based in our outpatient center, Family Partners may also meet with individuals and families out in the community at a location that's most convenient for the family.

Family Partner duties may include:


  • learning about the family's story, strengths, concerns, and culture in order to effectively serve as a consultant and advocate for the family
  • providing information about Comprehensive, WISe process & procedures, and the Family Partner role to engage parents & caregivers
  • sharing personal experiences of recovery, as appropriate, to build motivation and encourage clients in their treatment
  • participating in team meetings to ensure access, voice, and choice within the wraparound process to support the caregivers' connection to treatment team
  • providing non-judgmental, unconditional support and consistent hope & encouragement to parents & caregivers
  • assisting the Care Coordinator in development of a self-directed recovery and action plan using wraparound principles
  • completing accurate and timely clinical documentation

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Must be theparent or guardian ofa childwho has receivedmental health treatment services
    • Eligible for Youth & Family Peer Counselor certification provided by the Washington State Healthcare Authority:
    • Must be eligible forregistration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
    • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide documentation upon hire or be approved for a qualifying medical or religious exemption prior to starting work
