Position Summary

At ENGIE Insight we believe that

The Instructional Designer (ID) will work as a member of

our dynamic and collaborative Technical Training team and will assist in the

design and maintenance of formal and informal learning programs, processes,

services and technologies to support the enterprise learning strategy.

Working closely with the department manager, the

instructional designer will serve as a proactive and productive liaison with

business partners across the enterprise and will consistently seek to make a

positive impact on business priorities and performance support metrics through

the design and development of learning interventions.The Instructional

Designer will work with the Sr. ID, technology support team and compliance

auditors to link reporting to training and analyze data to suggest improvements

for learning content, methods and target audience.

Role Description

Instructional

Design and Program Management



  • Support the instructional design process across assigned programs; take ownership of assigned projects, document instructional design agreements/project plans, drive quality and timely completion of milestones.
  • Work with department manager/senior instructional designer to design, develop and implement innovative, robust interactive formal and informal learning interventions including learning games, computer-based training, instructor-led training, on-the-job training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Work with design team, senior learning architect and content

    owners to foster the development of compelling content; moderate interactions

    with the design team and work with the appropriate internal resources to meet

    business objectives.
  • Manage and work on multiple, medium scale, complex learning

    interventions concurrently with limited supervision; lead and/or support a

    collaborative design and development process. Create documentation/digital

    artifacts to support formal course code development and/or standardized LMS

    deployment and tracking.
  • Utilize operations focused project management strategies that

    are consistent with instructional design best practices; ensure action and

    remediation planning is completed for gaps identified through a formal needs

    assessment process.
  • Provide guidance to subject matter experts (SME) and technical

    trainers on design standards for training materials, facilitator/participant

    guides, job aids and performance support tools; strong attention to detail.
  • Support marketing and communication for assigned instructional

    design projects; communicate regularly with program stakeholders and others as

    required.
  • Contribute to the design and development of long-term strategic

    learning plans for the enterprise. Coordinate instructional design activities

    with department lead and team members to meet performance measurement deadlines

    with a view toward aligning learning interventions to support business

    outcomes.

    and Professional Development



    • Monitor industry trends in adult learning and instructional design;

      encourage targeted and performance based approaches to learning design.
    • Commit to, and model continuous learning practices and self-development skills - both for personal growth, and to leverage emerging instructional design and performance improvement best practices and technology.


      Role Competencies

      Required



      • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
      • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional systems

        design and performance support frameworks.
      • Experience designing blended learning solutions for remote

        learners and subject-matter-experts who are not co-located.


        Highly Preferred


        • Bachelor's degree in educational psychology or instructional

          design, plus 6 years' experience designing performance support interventions

          for audiences with technical skills.
        • Project management experience involving cross-functional

          projects with multiple dependencies and constraints.
        • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS SharePoint, Adobe

          Creative Suite and Articulate Storyline; LMS administration and/or management. Experience

          serving a global workforce including technically skilled and dispersed

          audiences.
        • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing blended learning

          solutions, including use of HTML5 authoring tools.
        • Proven ability to build functional instructional design materials,

          including guides, graphic organizers and performance support.
        • Strong communication skills; group facilitation, business and

          technical writing.Demonstrated use of an instructional systems design

          model and design thinking; knowledge of adult learning theory.
        • Experience with LMS platforms, functionality, administration, reporting and course authoring tools.
        • Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with team members, stakeholders and

          subject-matter-experts at all-levels of the organization.
        • Organizational: Superior organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to

          detail, prioritization and ability to meet deadlines.
        • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including

          technical and business writing skills.
        • Creativity/Problem-Solver: Ability

          to "think outside of the box" and provide creative solutions that unify

          best practices and business needs in a scalable, sustainable approach.
        • Client

          external, and their needs as a primary focus; able to build and maintain

          strong relationships, and gain trust and cooperation, particularly with
