ABOUT WALLA WALLA FOUNDRY
You've probably seen art built at Walla Walla Foundry, but didn't
know it. Walla Walla Foundry is one of the largest fine art
fabricators in the world. Originally founded in 1980 as a bronze
casting foundry, we now have over 100 employees and we produce work
in a range of materials and through multiple processes.
Depending on project workload and staffing, the Wax Tech works
collaboratively with other wax room techs to perform one of the
following key task/roles:
Wax Pouring: Prepare molds to be rinsed with wax. Pours/rinses hot
molten wax into molds to create wax patterns.
Tooling: Inspect and manicure wax patterns to ensure the highest
quality part for the casting process.
Sprueing and Glueing: Assemble and seal all parts and ceramic
pouring cups, per Foundry procedures.
For all tasks, use tools such as knives, dental tools, soldering
irons, small propane torches, drills and other hand tools. Over
time, one specific task may become the employee's primary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate, or equivalent. Technical school (such as
welding, paint, construction) and/or Art School preferred.
1 year related manufacturing or industrial experience
(construction, painting, manufacturing, etc.) or other physical
and/or mechanical-oriented work.
Must have a comfort level with technology (ipad, email, navigating
the web) to reference projects and track time and project
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English well enough
to accurately follow detailed written procedures and work
instructions as well as record and review data; clearly document
your work, and talk with fellow workers and managers.
Ability to perform basic math calculations and metric tapes.
Welding experience (MIG or TIG) including formal training,
technical school or apprenticeship or on the job experience.
Operation of manlift or forktruck experience (or ability to be
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT: This is a physical role-- frequent
standing, walking, twisting, lifting (up to 25 lbs occasionally and
up to 50 pounds with assistance), pushing. If tooling, frequent
sitting, Work can occur on ladders and at heights. Environment is
industrial and can be dirty, dusty, smoky and temperatures can
swing (hot or cold). PPE required and worn daily include ear
protection, face masks/shields, glasses, respirators, protective
clothing and sturdy boots.
Regular Foundry working hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through
Friday. Overtime available, with a shift start of 5 am. Pay is
$16-20, depending on experience. Foundry offers a comprehensive
