ApplyDescriptionThe Building Maintenance Technician duties include minor electrical, heating and air conditioning maintenance, plumbing installation and repair, light construction, carpentry, painting, and exercise equipment repair. Seasonal duties include landscaping, snow and ice mitigation, repair of sprinkler systems, etc.This position has a five-day work week and may be on-call the additional two days for emergencies.Benefits package includes medical, vision, dental benefits, parking, paid time off, and other benefits.Requirements* Minimum age 18.* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); formal trade training preferred. Prefer a apprentice level craftsman with licensing.* Structure repair and maintenance, i.e. plaster and painting experience preferred.* Knowledgeable in OSHA programs and practices.* Demonstrates mechanical, plumbing, construction, and electrical repair abilities. Certification in HVAC or electrical a plus.* Manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment, ladders, and other equipment as needed.* Ability to follow instructions.* Ability to organize daily workflow.* Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.* Positive attitude; takes pride and ownership in job.* Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The employee must regularly move, lift, and balance up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 lbs in difficult work positions. The position includes sitting, walking, and manual labor. The position requires the ability to stand, walk for sustained periods of time throughout each shift, and to perform work safely involving power tools, ladders, and other equipment as needed. Normal hearing is a requirement of this position due to core position requirements. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus due to core position requirements. Position requires the ability to reach above head to secure items from shelves, and to bend, and kneel. High level of face-to-face communication is involved in this position.Work EnvironmentThe environment is often noisy, with lots of activity and interruptions throughout the day.This position has frequent contact with members and guests. Part of this job requires the ability and desire to work professionally with the attitude of cooperation in order to create an atmosphere of genuine care, well being, and to ensure the comfort of members and guests at all times.
