ABOUT WALLA WALLA FOUNDRYYou've probably seen art built at Walla
Walla Foundry, but didn't know it. Walla Walla Foundry is one of
the largest fine art fabricators in the world. Originally founded
in 1980 as a bronze casting foundry, we now employ over 100
employees and we produce work in a range of materials and through
multiple processes. ABOUT THE JOBThe Foundry is seeking an
entry-level technician to join our team! The new hire will start by
learning an important task known as gating. Gating involves pouring
wax into molds to form a base for parts to sit on. These bases are
then demolded, cleaned up, and prepped for production. The
technician may also complete some basic welding. Tools used to
perform tasks in the wax room include knives, dental tools,
soldering irons, small propane torches, drills and other hand

paycheck. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required:High school graduate,
or equivalent required. 1+ year technical school (such as welding,
paint, construction) preferred1 year related work experience,
ideally in manufacturing or related industry such as construction,
painting, etc.) or other physical and/or mechanical-oriented
workMust have a comfort level with technology (ipad, email,
navigating the web) to reference projects and track time and
project progressMust be able to read, write, and communicate in
English well enough to accurately follow detailed written
procedures and work instructions as well as record and review data;
clearly document your work, and talk with fellow workers and
managersAbility to perform basic math calculations and use metric
tapesDesired:Prior wax/foundry experienceWelding experience (MIG or
TIG) including formal training, technical school, apprenticeship or
on the job experienceOperation of manlift or forklift experience
(or ability to be certified)PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT OF WAX
TECHNICIANThis is a physical role-- frequent standing, walking,
twisting, leaning over work. Frequently lifts 5-15 pounds;
occasionally lifts up to 25 lbs and up to 50 pounds with
assistance. If tooling, frequent sitting. Work can occur on ladders
and at heights. Environment is industrial and can be dirty, dusty,
smokey and temperatures can swing (hot or cold). PPE required and
worn regularly includes safety glasses, ear protection, protective
clothing and sturdy boots. Respirators and face shields/masks may
also be required for Foundry tasks. WORK DETAILSPay is $17.50-19.00
to start, depending on experience. Regular Foundry working hours
are 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime often
required, with a shift start of 5 am. Foundry offers a
comprehensive benefits package, including 100% paid employee
health/vision and $10 towards dental insurance; paid time off
includes Vacation (up to 10 days/per year in first year), Sick
Leave, and six paid holidays. Other benefits include Foundry paid
